Riptide Triathlon Suit

Project Overview

A performance uniform design project developed for the Riptide Triathlon Team based in Singapore. The objective was to create a cohesive and high-impact race kit that strengthened team identity while meeting the technical and visual demands of competitive triathlon events. The scope included designing men’s trisuits and singlets that balanced aerodynamic functionality with bold, recognisable branding.

The Challenge

Triathlon uniforms must perform under extreme conditions from open water swims to high-speed cycling and long-distance running while maintaining comfort, flexibility, and visual distinction. The team required a modern, unified look that could stand out in crowded race environments and reinforce brand visibility during competitions and media coverage.

Strategy & Design Approach

The design direction focused on dynamic movement, clarity, and strong visual recognition. I developed a structured layout that used clean lines and strategic colour blocking to enhance the athlete’s physique and create a sense of forward motion.

Key considerations included:

• Placement of logos and typography for maximum visibility during cycling and running positions
• High-contrast colour combinations to ensure recognition from a distance
• Seam-aware graphic application to maintain continuity across garment panels
• Scalable design system adaptable across different uniform formats (trisuits and singlets)

The final aesthetic combined performance-driven minimalism with energetic detailing to reflect the team’s competitive spirit and endurance mindset.
