333 Steamboat
A branding and visual identity project developed for a local steamboat business operating within a competitive Singapore hawker environment. The objective was to create a distinct and memorable brand presence that would stand out in a fast-paced, high-footfall food centre while maintaining cultural authenticity and approachability.
Project Overview
Hawker centres are highly saturated spaces where multiple food stalls compete for immediate attention. The brand required strong visual differentiation, clear menu communication, and cohesive signage to attract customers quickly and influence purchase decisions within seconds.
Strategy & Approach
I developed a bold yet approachable visual direction that reflected the warmth and communal experience of steamboat dining. The design system focused on:
-
High-visibility storefront signage to maximise attention from a distance
-
Clear, structured menu layouts for easy readability and fast decision-making
-
Promotional flyers designed to increase repeat visits and awareness
-
Consistent typography, colour palette, and graphic elements across all touchpoints
Special attention was given to hierarchy, legibility, and food imagery placement to ensure clarity within a busy hawker setting.
